Our success story began in 1992. Since then, we’ve survived some ups and downs, learned a lot and celebrated many successes.

1992
Michael Arbesmeier, Kai-Uwe Rommel and Roland Schock establish ARS. They start out at the Munich Technology Centre in Frankfurter Ring with a vision to create a system house for IT services, software and software development.
1995
In 1995, IBM authorises ARS to be one of its first two Premier Partners in Germany. ARS distributes IBM operating system OS/2 and IBM Software Server, tools for C++ development, as well as offering related consulting and development services.
ARS advises companies on the strategic use of IBM software and develops constructive solutions for their customers for the cost-effective purchase of IBM company licences and Passport Advantage contracts.
1999
Recognising the potential of the still-young programming language, Java, in 1999, ARS develops an extensive training business around object-oriented software development, Java and Java Enterprise, which leads to ever-larger software development projects.
2000
In 2000, ARS grows to 20 staff, continues to build its software and project business and relocates to Ridlerstrasse 55 in Munich’s Westend district.
2001 – 2006
In 2002 and 2006, employees of ours write two books on software development with Java Enterprise.
2007 – 2013
In the following years, ARS develops large software projects for public and private insurance companies, medical care companies and electronics firms, plus car manufacturers and automotive suppliers.
2014
In 2014, ARS opts for IBM Bluemix (platform as a service) and concludes Europe’s first subscription contract with IBM. ARS expands its offering to include consulting and services related to software architecture, application lifecycle management, software quality assurance and IBM software licence management.
2015
In 2015, ARS grows to 60 staff, moves into larger and more suitable premises in Ridlerstrasse 37 and rolls out its largest software project so far, with a development scope of several thousand person days.
2016
In 2016, ARS expands its consulting and service offering to include topics such as microservices and API economy. As part of this, it joins forces with IBM to write a Redbook on microservices.
2017
ARS appoints Stefan Schäffer to the management team. In his long-term role as Head of Application Development Services, he has proven himself to be the ideal person to take on the role of Chief Operations Officer.
2018
ARS becomes part of TIMETOACT GROUP. On 12 September 2018, TIMETOACT GROUP acquires ARS in its entirety. Managing directors Joachim Gucker, Stefan Schäffer and Michael Arbesmeier continue to run the business as before. TIMETOACT GROUP now has more than 520 staff at 13 locations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
2020
ARS becomes one of the few Red Hat Premier Business Partners with a focus on cloud solutions. Premier Business Partner is the highest level of the Red Hat partner programme.
2023
ARS celebrates its 30th anniversary with a new, contemporary look. The new logo combines the familiar word mark design with a new, symbolic image. Red remains a central element of our company identity and is enhanced by four additional colours, each representing one of the company’s key competences: software engineering, cloud, API and IT modernisation.
