Sustainability in the TIMETOACT GROUP

Our contribution to the environment, fair cooperation and responsible corporate governance.

Sustainability is one of the major topics of our time and we also want to get involved and face up to our responsibility as TIMETOACT GROUP. This includes not only a contribution to the protection of the environment, but also commitment in the areas of social and corporate governance, for which the term Environmental Social Governance (ESG for short) has become established.

  • We accept the challenge, take one step at a time and work continuously on the sustainable orientation of our company.

On this page you will get an overview of our activities, with which we drive the topic of sustainability in the TIMETOACT GROUP.

Environmental Social Governance (ESG) in the TIMETOACT GROUP

Important stations on our path to sustainability

We are still far from being perfect, but: We are staying on it!
We want to get better step by step and constantly expand our timeline.

The TIMETOACT GROUP can act sustainably, then so can we! In the end, everyone benefits from it: Sustainable corporate management is good for the environment, for our employees, customers and partners - and in the long term it has a positive effect on the entire development of the company. It was therefore clear to us that the time had come to turn our existing sustainability measures into an official ESG project and to push the issue even further.

Environmental

Together for a healthy environment

As a technology company, we are already sustainably positioned in many relevant areas, unlike industry, for example. Nevertheless, we do not want to lean back in the area of environment! On the contrary: With the climate neutrality of the TIMETOACT GROUP, our management has set itself an ambitious goal. We are proud to have reached this goal by the end of 2022. To achieve this, we calculated our carbon footprint together with ClimatePartner and offset the emissions by investing in various environmental projects. In a survey, our employees opted for the following projects:

Our current sustainability projects

Kombiprojekt: Solar energy and marine conservation

Sustainable energy in India and marine conservation worldwide.

This climate protection project uses the power of the sun to produce renewable energy. This involves installing PV solar modules in the three Indian states of Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra with a capacity of 225 megawatt hours.

For every ton of CO2 offset there, 10 kg of plastic is collected under the Plastic Bank Initiative. As a result, more than 8 million tons of plastic waste end up in the ocean every year. Developing countries in particular often lack the infrastructure for proper disposal. Initiatives such as the Plastic Bank Initiative prevent plastic waste from entering the sea and at the same time are committed to improving the living conditions of the collecting communities.

Combined project: forest protection and tree planting

Forest protection in Brazil and tree planting in Germany

The project in Brazil protects 99,035 ha of Amazon rainforest, which is home to a wide variety of plants and animals. The project area is located in Lábrea in the Brazilian state of Amazonas.

For every ton of CO2 offset there, we plant an additional tree in Germany, thus helping our forests to adapt to climate change. Because climate change is also being felt in Europe: forest fires are destroying large areas, and pests are spreading particularly quickly in weakened forests. For this reason, we support reforestation and the conversion of forests to mixed forests.

Forest Conservation

Forest conservation in Cujubim, Brazil

The environmental project, which is located in the forest area of the Brazilian state of Rondônia, improves the quality of life of local people by training farmers in sustainable land and forest management. Furthermore, it contributes to the conservation of biodiversity and the protection of various wildlife works.

The project has been recognized by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) as exemplary for sustainable forest management in Latin America and the Caribbean and is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) as a global reference for sustainable timber production. By reducing unplanned deforestation, approximately 7,457,910 metric tons of CO2 emissions will be avoided over the life of the project.

Wind energy India

Sustainable power generation in Nashik, India

Coal-based thermal power plants are one of the main sources of energy in India and also one of the largest CO2 emitters. This climate protection project in the Nashik region of Maharashtra, India, replaces part of the fossil energy by feeding renewable wind energy into the regional NEWNE power grid, which supplies northern, eastern, western and northeastern India. Four wind turbines with a total capacity of six megawatts were installed for this purpose.

The wind project will generate approximately 12,530 megawatt hours of electricity per year and save approximately 11,560 tons of CO2. With this and the creation of jobs, the project contributes to sustainable development in India.

Wind energy South Africa

Sustainable power generation in De Aar, South Africa

The environmental project near the town of De Aar in South Africa's Northern Cape province harnesses the region's wind energy potential to meet its energy needs in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way. As a result, it is home to 96 wind turbines that have generated an average of 439,600 MWh of electricity per year since 2017. The proportion of electricity supplied by the wind farm would have been generated by fossil fuels without the project - avoiding an average of 433,920 CO2 per year.

In addition to the environmental benefits, the project helps the local community by creating jobs and improving infrastructure. The project supports local soccer clubs by funding equipment, events, travel and more. It also provides funding for Richmond Untied Ladies Football Club, the only premier league women's club in De Aar.
